Great care starts with correct diagnoses. Those diagnoses often flow from the observations and tests conducted by licensed laboratory professionals.
Columbia Memorial Hospital has its own fully staffed and licensed laboratory – one of the finest in the region. Sophisticated laboratory testing procedures are performed each day to help physicians diagnose disease and monitor patient care. The Columbia Memorial Hospital Laboratory and Pathology Departments are staffed by Medical Technologists, Medical Technicians, Phlebotomy Technicians and other support staff. The Medical Director of the Laboratory is a Board Certified Pathologist.
Last year the Laboratory at Columbia Memorial Hospital performed close to 1,000,000 tests on over 70,000 patients seen in our Emergency Room, Outpatient Blood Draw Stations and Inpatients. The Laboratory performs both emergency and routine testing 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
The Laboratory holds accreditation with commendation from the National Accreditation agencies of The College of American Pathologists and the American Association of Blood Bankers.
