Child Advocacy Services

The mission of the Dr. Stephen and Suzanne Menkes Child Advocacy Program is to reduce trauma, provide expert medical care and enhance collaboration among organizations in the investigation, prosecution and treatment of child abuse.

Our program provides a non-threatening, child-focused, neutral, stress-free environment where investigations, treatment and prosecution of child sexual abuse cases can be conducted by a supportive, trained team of experts including child protective services, law enforcement, prosecutors and medical providers, as well as mental health staff, school guidance counselors and rape crisis staff.

The child’s trauma is lessened by reducing the number of interviews and giving prompt and specific treatment and protection. The program empowers parents to protect their children through interventions and provides them with proper medical and mental health services after the counseling.

If you know of any child or family who might need this valuable service, please call the Child Advocacy Center at 518.697-3320.
