HRBT Foundation Strengthens Connection
With Community Health
(Hudson, NY - April 2, 2007) – The Hudson River Bank and Trust Co. Foundation (HRBT) has re-emphasized its strong connection with one of the most important local community assets in Columbia County by donating $24,000 to Columbia Memorial Hospital. The grant is earmarked to support a new program entitled “Empowering the Community to be Partners in Health”, the primary goal of which is to promote and maintain the health of residents in the area through education and appropriate referral services.
“Support from local businesses, and especially the HRBT Foundation has had a significant impact on our success both in the past and now into the future.” noted Program Director Mary Daggett. “We are now better able to continue our mission of providing wellness education and information within the communities we serve.”
Previous Community Health presentations offered by Columbia Memorial
in conjunction with this program have successfully encouraged members of the community to take charge of their own health in partnership with hospital staff. Topics that have received attention and interest through the Program have ranged from cardiovascular disease to tobacco cessation to diabetes. The Hudson River Bank & Trust Company Foundation was established in 1998 to provide financial support to nonprofit organizations.
