~ a national day of recognition honoring the important role that doctors
play in our lives. Mary Carey, is the Manager of the Resident and Family Services Department at Kaaterskill Care in Jefferson Heights, Catskill and has been named Employee of the 3rd Quarter of 2011.
"National Doctors' Day is time to reflect on the important role that physicians play in helping individual patients and promoting the overall health of the nation," said American Medical Association President Peter W. Carmel, MD.
This annual day of recognition was first celebrated in 1933 in Winder,Georgia. The United States House and Senate officially declared March 30 "National Doctors' Day" in 1990.
Each one of us, either by choice or by chance, has benefited from the compassionate and professional care of a physician. Doctors are
responsible for our short and long-term health care, preventing and treating illness and injury, providing screenings and immunizations,
delivering precious newborns, and helping the aged and infirm. They are committed to the health and well-being of every member of our community, and for this they deserve our thanks.
This National Doctors Day, please take the time to honor your doctors for their commitment to ensuring that people in our community have an opportunity to live a full and healthy life.
It is easy to say thank you by making a tribute gift in honor of your doctors. You may send your gift in their honor to the Columbia-Greene
Hospital Foundation at 71 Prospect Avenue, Hudson, NY 12534. Or, you may go to www.SupportColumbiaMemorial.com and click on "Donate Today."
Your doctors will appreciate your act of kindness and generosity, and you will be supporting continuing great care in our community.
