Joe Howard of Columbia Memorial Hospital's Engineering Department was named Employee of the Month for March 2011. Joe is the lead grounds keeper for the department. Joe joined the engineering department in March 2006. Before he joined the engineering department he was a driver for the shuttle bus from Acme Building to the Hospital when everyone parked there during the MOB construction. Besides completing his duties of maintaining all the grounds around the Hospital, MOB, ASB, and Cavell, Joe also assists with maintenance issues in the Hospital as well as going to address maintenance issues in our offices outside the hospital.
Joe is the first one here and directs and runs the snow plowing and sanding for all areas around the hospital during a snow storm. Joe is a great asset to our department and is well liked by his coworkers. He also goes above and beyond to assist our patients and visitors when they come and leave the hospital.
