Columbia Memorial Hospital has recently been awarded a two year grant by the Board of Directors of the Dyson Foundation in the amount of $134,000. The funds will be used to support Columbia Memorial Hospital's Safety Matters Program in the Kaaterskill Care and the Family Care Centers.
Safety Matters is a comprehensive program that promotes Safety as a core value, builds accountability and identifies and solves system problems that lead to medical errors. Staff members receive education and training on human error prevention techniques and are provided with tools to assist them in reducing errors, while delivering the best and safest care possible to our patients. The program has been in place at the hospital for two years and through the Dyson Foundation's grant will now be expanded to Kaaterskill Care and the Primary Care and Specialty Care Centers located throughout Columbia and Greene counties.
