Lauren Howard
Columbia Memorial Hospital and its affiliate rehabilitation and nursing facility, Kaaterskill Care in Catskill, announce the winners of various employee recognition programs - marking the end of 2009 and beginning of the new year.

For the fourth Quarter of 2009, the Daisy Award was presented to Lauren Howard from the Medical Imaging Department. Lauren was selected by the recruitment and retention committee. This award cites a person who is compassionate, empathetic, dependable, caring, and a dedicated patient advocate. Lauren was unanimously chosen by the selection committee for the fourth quarter of 2009 for her exemplary work in Medical Imaging, according to Rhonda Makoske, Department head.

Charlene LeBeouf of Columbia Memorial's communications department was January 2010 employee of the month.

Charlene LeBeouf
"It is my honor to salute Charlene LeBeouf," said communications supervisor Karen Leccese. "She is a dedicated employee who exhibits true team member qualities. She goes out of her way to help her co-workers and is always ready and willing to help whenever and wherever she can. Charlene has a friendly personality that puts people at ease. We are proud to have her as a member of our team."

LeBeouf hails from Dutchess County. She now lives in Greenport.

Nora Rancourt has been chosen as Employee of the Quarter at Kaaterskill Care Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Catskill for her dedication to the residents and her positive attitude, according to Todd Zbytniewski, Vice President for Geriatric Services.

Nora Rancourt
"Nora has been an employee at Kaaterskill Care since April 2001. Her attendance is excellent and she comes to work everyday with a smile. Nora goes above and beyond to lift the resident's spirits and to help them reach their highest potential. Her energy adds joy to the residents' day," said Zbytniewski.

Raymundo Mingua, RN and Linda Erickson, RN, Emergency Department staff nurses at Columbia Memorial, recently passed the Board Certified Emergency Nurse (BCEN) exam. This internationally recognized certification distinguishes the individuals who acquire a defined body of nursing knowledge specific to emergency nursing.

Both Mingua and Erickson are focused and dedicated nurses, and are both pursuing graduate degrees. They serve as valuable resources to other nurses in the department. The Emergency Department has purchased a BCEN plaque, to which their names have been added. It is currently displayed in the Triage area of the hospital.

Rebecca Hamm was named Columbia Memorial Hospital's Employee of the Month for February 2010, according to Patient Accounts Supervisor Carol Siedsma.

"Rebecca has been employed with Columbia Memorial Hospital for the past twelve years. She started in an entry level position in Patient Accounts but her talents were noted and she was quickly promoted," said Siedsma.

Rebecca Hamm
"Rebecca has a keen eye for making sure tasks are fully researched and always presents the best possible solution to any problem."

Outside of work, Rebecca is a full time Mom to three kids and very active in her community. This past summer she volunteered her vacation time, and spent a week in Port-au- Prince, Haiti assisting in an orphanage (before the earthquake).

"Columbia Memorial Hospital is fortunate to have Rebecca as an employee, and we truly appreciate all her efforts every day!," said Siedsma.
