Columbia Memorial cites Employees of the Months of January and February

Tracy Johnson, RPH, Pharmacy Supervisor at Columbia Memorial Hospital, was named Employee of the Month of January.

Tracy Johnson
"She is one of the most dedicated, hard working people I know of," said Shanda Steenburn, Pharmacy Director.

Johnson started at Columbia Memorial in 1996 as a Staff Pharmacist and in 2000 became the Pharmacy Supervisor. "Tracy has met many challenges in the management role, and has handled them with determination and success. She has developed into a competent leader, always leading by example. Tracy can manage all aspects of the department, and, in my absence, I am confident that things are always handled in an appropriate manner," said Steenburn.

"The Columbia Memorial Pharmacy has been busy developing a new automated bedside verification system and Tracy has been instrumental in its success. She is always looking out for the patients and the hospital. She is fiscally minded - conscious of budgetary issues. As Employee of the Month she deserves to be recognized for her hard work, dedication, and sacrifices she has made for the job. She is truly a gem," said Steenburn.

Lutricia Franklin
Lutricia Franklin, affectionately known as "Aunt Trisha" by Surgical Services staff at Columbia Memorial, has been named employee of the month of February. Franklin is a Multi-specialty Aide in the Operating Room.

Franklin began her career at Columbia Memorial Hospital 32 years ago in the housekeeping department.

"With study and dedication, a decade later, she transferred to Surgical Services/Operating Room and has been a permanent fixture ever since," according to Kristin Bernockie, Director of Surgical Services.

Franklin is considered a hard-working employee who goes above and beyond to help patients, co-workers and the organization. Beyond her normal duties, Franklin raises money for hospital improvements, and the foundation, including coming in off her shift voluntarily to reach those employees who might further contribute to Columbia Memorial.

"Trisha never leaves work until she feels comfortable that things are in order, and her co-workers are able to handle what comes their way," said Bernockie.

She doesn't have to be asked to go above and beyond, she just does it, no questions asked. Outside of the workplace Franklin is an active member at Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall. She enjoys new ways to exercise including her new love of water aerobics, and watching her 2 grandchildren play sports. Trisha is a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
