Nursing
The
Nursing Division at Columbia Memorial Hospital is committed to
providing our patients and the community with high quality comprehensive
health care services in a dignified and compassionate environment.
The
nursing staff are patient and family advocates who work collaboratively
with other disciplines to provide our patients with high quality
care.
Educational
advancements are supported and encouraged for all nursing staff
at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Within
the Nursing Division, a variety of clinical services are offered.

Medical-Surgical
Nursing
There
are several medical/surgical units within the nursing division.
Our telemetry unit is primarily for cardiac patients who require
cardiac monitoring. All the RN's on that unit are Certified
in Cardiac Life Support and are proficient in reading heart rhythms
and caring for cardiac patients.
One
of our medical/surgical units treats dialysis patients and another
accommodates chronic ventilator patients. Our ten bed Hospice
unit, operates in collaboration with Columbia Greene Community
Hospice, and specializes in the care of the terminally ill.
On this unit, family members can be continuously involved in the
patient's care to the extent that they chose. Another unit has
nurses trained in caring for orthopedic patients, including those
with fractures or total joint replacements .
We
also have a dialysis unit where hemodialysis and peritoneal
dialysis is performed.
