Ersno Eromo, MD

Ersno Eromo, M.D., is a spine surgeon with Columbia Memorial Bone & Joint Center. Dr. Eromo's interest in spinal surgery is a combination of several academic and athletic interests during his early schooling both in high school and college. While studying neurobiology and playing as an attacking midfielder in a semi-pro league, he was intrigued by the complexity of the human nervous system. These early experiences as an undergraduate and as a JPL/NASA researcher primed his interest in orthopaedic surgery and later in surgery of the spine.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from UCLA, he obtained his medical degree from the Howard University College of Medicine in Washington D.C. Dr. Eromo completed his orthopaedic residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Subsequently he completed a combined Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical Spinal fellowship at the world renowned Norton-Leatherman Spine Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dr. Eromo treats both adult and pediatric trauma, deformities, scoliosis, myelopathy, chronic conditions, infections and tumors. He is trained in the latest technology in minimally invasive spinal surgery, including percutaneous spinal fusion. Dr. Eromo has had significant experience at a Level I Trauma center treating major cervical, thoracic, lumbar and spinal cord injuries.

Dr. Eromo provides clinical assessment and treatment for all patients with spine pathology, including those who do not require surgery. He will work closely with the pain management specialists at Columbia Memorial Hospital, as well as work with rehabilitation experts to tailor a non-operative treatment plan for patients. If the patient has a tumor or infection then a treatment plan will be tailored in conjunction with the primary care physician, oncologist and/or infectious disease specialist. Dr.Eromo's passion for helping patients return to an active and pain-free life is evident in his conservative philosophy of exhausting all non-surgical avenues before discussing surgery as an option.

Outside of the office you will find Dr. Eromo is involved in sports activities such as basketball, soccer, and golf. His greatest joy is spending time with his parents and siblings.
