Columbia Memorial lauds staff at 18th recognition dinner
Columbia Memorial Hospital held it’s 18th Annual Employee Recognition Dinner, Together We Achieve More,
October 5 at Anthony's Banquet Hall, in Leeds, lauding 106 employees for their “outstanding commitment to creating healthcare excellence in our region and for their
collegial support of each other’s endeavors day in and day out,” according to event organizers.
The evening’s activities included dinner and dancing and the recognition ceremony which was
marked by a special citation to Mary Rogers for providing 40 years of service to Columbia Memorial.
According to Information Systems director Robert Powers, “Rogers has spent a substantial part of her life dedicated to providing
technology and information services to Columbia Memorial Hospital.”
"Rogers started her career at Columbia Memorial in the billing office (now Patient Accounts) and became an integral part of the data processing/information
systems department and was instrumental in building the foundation of the Information Systems Department that exists today,” he said.
Also cited for 40 years of service was Rosemary Donovan a staff nurse in the Intensive Care Unit who spent her entire career at Columbia Memorial. According to Critical Care Director Liz Surprise, “Donovan is anxiously looking towards the building of the new ICU, part of the Hospital’s Capital Campaign, so she can retire.”
Donovan was cited for her “responsible work ethic, couched with humor and a willingness to serve,” according to staff comments.
The following were also cited for their specific years of service to Columbia Memorial.
